Mary was a housekeeper, a family caretaker, and worked for Dr. John D. and Mrs. McCallum and family in Canton for forty years.   Mary spent countless hours helping others and found joy in baking, cooking, and gardening, both flowers and vegetables.  She loved to eat a vine-ripe tomato fresh out of her garden. She sewed, knitted and did other helping projects for her family even taking on a "mother" role looking out for her siblings as they were growing up.   Mary was a kind and compassionate person known for her hospitality who always made anyone visiting feel right at home.   Mary attended and was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Canton and later attended the First Baptist Church in Troy.

Surviving Mary are her Children; Kay (Brent) Wickizer of Binghamton and Gerald (Edith) Bailey of Troy; Siblings; Sue Woodard of Sayre, Paul Chreptak of Elmira, Pat (Dave) Wright of Canton, Pauline (Tom) Whipple of Horseheads, Anne Parker of Elizabethtown, TN, Steve (Kay) Chreptak of Tampa, FL, and Cathy Wilson of Athens; Grandchildren; Marc (Shana) Bailey, Jennifer (Stacy) Ferguson, Eric (Hope) Wickizer, Mary Beth (Ron) Ford and Amy Wickizer; Great Grandchildren; Gavin Ford, Collin Wickizer, and Emily and Bailey Ferguson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
