Mary E. Turner, 72, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Troy Guthrie Community Hospital. Mary Elizabeth was born December 2, 1952, in Troy, a daughter to the late Chester and Gertrude (Mullen) Turner. She attended Canton Area Schools.

Mary was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles and Canton Warriors football fan. Mary was a very independent person who liked to live on her own. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans for family and friends and cruising around on her scooter. Mary liked playing cards and  bingo and always looked forward to family gatherings and the time they spent together.

Mary leaves behind her siblings; Evelyn Barker of Eatonville, Wash., Trudy (Jim) Moyer of Canton, Leslie (Jean) Turner of Athens, Ernest (Linda) Turner, Sarah (Tony) Brown all of Canton, Sharon (Ron) Haldeman of The Colony, Texas, Chester Turner Jr., Carol (Mike) Machmer and Stephen Turner, all of Canton, Aunt Audrey Thomas of Canton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by a brother C. Michael Turner and nephews Michael Chester Turner and Shawn David Barker, and many aunts, uncles and extended family as well.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Canton Moose, 41 Sullivan Street Canton, PA 17724. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
