Maybelle "May" (Ammerman) Dunbar, 80, of Troy passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Robert Paker Hospital in Sayre.  Maybelle was born May 18, 1943, at her family home in Granville Summit to the late Millard and Anna (Stalter) Ammerman. She attended Troy area schools and was a graduate of the class of 1962. In November of 1973 May married Thomas Dunbar in Snow Hill, Maryland.  She was employed at Paper Magic for 23 years until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the Granville Center Church of Christ.

Craft shows and buying knick-knacks on QVC was something May truly enjoyed. Family reunions and anytime spent with her family was always her most treasured times.

May leaves behind her siblings; Sharon Sweeney of Roaring Branch, Allen Ammerman of Troy, Shirley (Larry) Spaulding of Cayuta, NY, Marie (Marty) Ammerman of Rome and Kathy (Dave) Aumick of Troy as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Thomas, May was predeceased by brothers; Milton Ammerman, Ward Keltz and John Keltz, a sister; Beverly Cole, nephews; Randy Ammerman and Ely Allen and her faithful canine companion; Brittany.

The family would like to thank the Guthrie Hospital's nurses and staff for the wonderful care they provided for May.

A private graveside service at Bradford County Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
