Patricia "Pat" Hartford, 81, of Alba, PA, passed away at home while surrounded by loved ones early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2018.

Born June 12, 1937 in Troy, PA, Patricia Ann was one of five children of the late Earl and Ethel (Bailey) May. She married Dale R. Hartford on Aug. 13, 1955, in Troy. They shared 48 years together before his passing on April 17, 2004. Caring for family and home came first in Pat's life. She always looked forward to spending time with her children and she cherished her grandchildren. She enjoyed several hobbies, especially camping with Dale, fishing and tending her flower beds and vegetable gardens. Pat was a big fan of her family's participation in local demolition derbies and will be lovingly remembered for her special kiss on the cheek, "for luck". She also was very talented with crocheting and made beautiful blankets for loved ones.

Surviving are her seven children; Vickie (Roy) Brown of Shunk, Alan (Brenda) Hartford of Alba, Robert (Kelly) Hartford of Montour Falls, NY, Lonnie (Mary) Hartford and Tina Hartford all of Alba, Amy (Mike) Gowin and Gale Hartford (Amy Hickok) all of Canton, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also her brother Walter May of Troy, special niece Kay Van Noy of Troy, brother-in-law Harland (Connie) Hartford, sisters-in-law Myla May, Janice, Neva, Mary and Delores Hartford, Brenda (Arlan) Higley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband Dale, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Marjorie Louise and three siblings; Eloise (Carlyle "Pogie") Van Noy, Max and Galen (Ginny) May. Also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Wilma May, Reed, Lawrence, James Jr., Earl (Sandy), Robert, Glen (Ora) and Dean Hartford, Alan "Punk" Williams and Marjorie Hickok.

Family invites friends to call 11 – 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton. Pastor John Hickok will officiate the funeral service following visitation. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Shunk at a later date.
