Obituary

Rebecca A. High, 29, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. At her side was her best friend and forever love Skyler Drake. They are together forever in the care of God. Rebecca was born on November 17, 1995, to Darwin and Patty (Pruyne) High. She graduated from Troy area schools and Northern Tier Career Center with the class of 2014. She furthered her education at Finger Lakes School of Massage. Rebecca held several jobs since graduating, her favorite and most important job was being Mommy to Adeline.

During her school years Rebecca cheered. Cheerleading was her sport and passion from age 6 to 12th grade. She was a flyer and loved every minute of going into a full. Cows were another obsession of hers. She loved everything with cows and cow prints. As a young child she competed in the Troy Fair Moo OFF contest, winning 1st place. As many are not aware, Rebecca struggled with mental health issues. Though many days she struggled to keep going, she put that aside to support and lift up anyone else who was struggling. Rebecca truly hated to see others suffer and would do anything to help them keep going. She always had the kindest, most encouraging words of support.

Rebecca made friends easily and all were referred to as her best friends. Her spunky personality and contagious laugh led to many hilarious moments. These moments will be cherished for years to come. All 4 feet 11 and a half inches of her was ready to take on the world if someone dared mess with those she loved.

Rebecca leaves behind her beloved daughter; Adeline Claire, parents; Darwin and Patty High, the pepper to her salt, her Seester; Rachael High (Brandon May) and her cherished nephew; Everett, grandmothers; Pamela High and Susan (Glenn) Alvino, beloved aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, best friend since childhood, Krissy Driehorst, adopted as her little sister; Kenzie Wilber, Adeline's daddy; Brandon Barnes and every best friend she ever met.

Rebecca was predeceased by her grandfathers; LaVerne High and Harry "Butch" Pruyne Jr., numerous extended family members and her cherished friend Daniel Wilber. Rebecca and Skyler are now reunited with their two angel babies.
