Obituary

Richard A. Brown, 76, of Canton, PA passed away Saturday evening peacefully, while surrounded by family on February 11, 2017, at the Bradford County Manor, Troy, PA.

Richard Allen was born April 26, 1940 in Williamsport, PA, a son of the late Chester and Agnes (Morgan) Brown.
Richard was a member of the 1958 Canton High School graduating class.He married the former Joeann Kilbourn in Grover on October 1, 1959. They were blessed with 57 loving years together and raised five sons. He was employed for many years as a security guard for Masonite Corp. in Towanda until retirement.In earlier years, he worked at Canton's Bellows Valvair Co. Special times for Richard were shared with family; he adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and black powder rendezvous.He also followed NASCAR and was a big Carl Edwards fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joeann, sons; Donald (and Claudette) Brown, David (and Cindy) Brown, Daniel (and Litza) Brown all of Canton, Darl (and Nancy) Brown of Troy, Denley (and Danette) Brown of Williamsburg, VA, nine grandchildren; Brandis (and Nick) Roth of Northridge Township, OH, Krystle (and Bud) Putnam of Wyalusing, Donny Brown (and friend Chelsea) of Mansfield, Chasity (and Jim) Murphy of Canton, Dana (and Kelsi) Brown of Minneapolis, MN, Ryan Brown of Baltimore, MD, Whitney (and Craig) Sheeley of Troy, Parker Brown of 29 Palms, CA and Rylee Brown of Williamsburg, VA, six great grandchildren; Grace and Emily Roth, Brooke Murphy, Jordyn and Jase Sheeley, Nolan Putnam; a brother, Robert (and Sally) Brown of Warrensville, PA, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; Gale Monroe of Coudersport, Stub (and Helen) Kilbourn of Roaring Branch, Garry Kilbourn of Granville Center and Connie Blaney of Canton, several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by two grandsons; Joshua Brown and Tyler Brown; a sister, Eleane Monroe; a nephew, Kevin Brown and an infant brother, Donnie.

His family invites friends to call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15th, and 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton.Rev. Josh Davinsizer will officiate the memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday.A private burial will be held in the Windfall Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Mr. Brown's memory to "The Tyler Brown Memorial Fund" which helps families dealing with addiction, c/o Fellowship Bible Church, 121 Mud Creek Rd.
