Richard A. “Dick” Jenkins, 90, of Troy, passed away at his home on Monday, April 21, 2026, with his loving family beside him. Richard Asa was born on September 2, 1935, in Springfield Township, the son of the late Edward “Mike” and Dorothy (Baldwin) Jenkins. He attended Troy area schools and graduated with the Class of 1954. On June 24, 1956, Dick married his high school sweetheart, the former Georgia Brewer, and together they built both a life and a legacy. For more than forty‑five years, they owned and operated their successful dairy business, Hi‑Lev Farms, where they raised their family and welcomed countless friends who came to share in the warmth and camaraderie.
Dick was a dedicated member of the Leona Open Arms Ministry and a lifetime member of the Troy Fire Department, serving faithfully for thirty‑six years. Throughout his career, he worked with several milk companies and served as president of the local chapter of Atlantic Dairy. Known for his strong work ethic, he balanced farming with various construction jobs, worked for Troy Township and also as an artificial inseminator for Carnation Farms. His life reflected commitment, community, and a deep love for the people around him.
Dick was well known for his character, humor, pranks and stories. He and Georgia shared their love and laughter with everyone. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed local deer hunting and several adventures in the west.
Dick leaves behind his daughter; Bonnie (Michael) Stone, sons; Robert “Bob” (Linda) Jenkins and Donald “Zeke” (Tammi) Jenkins, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, siblings; Jim Jenkins, Doris Morgan and Janet Morgan, special friends; Doug (Helen) Leiby, John Inman, Shirley Thompson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by his wife; Georgia in 2014, brother and sister-in-law; Tom (Pat) Jenkins, brother; Steve Jenkins and a daughter-in-law; Lisa Strope Jenkins.
