Richard "Dick" L. Cease, 90, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Sherwood Personal Care and Retirement Home in Canton. Richard was born in Troy on June 13, 1933, a son to the late John and Laura (Dunbar) Cease. He attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1950. Richard was married to the former Mary Jane Warner. Dick was an incredibly talented machinist. In his earlier years he owned and operated Noreast Plastics in Elmira, New York and then went on to own and operate Glenview Industries in Canton for several years until his retirement. He was a member of the Ogdensburg Gun Club.

Dick was a true and passionate outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Taking his family on camping trips and spending time at cottages in Canada was something he always looked forward to. Wintering in Florida with his wife was a time he truly cherished.

Surviving Dick are his second wife; Mary Jane Warner, of Canton, children; Roger Cease of Middleburg, Laurie (Jeff) Beyer of Columbia Crossroads, Bradley (Cindy) Cease of Richmond, Texas, and Michele (Edd) Anthony of Palacios, Texas, eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Esther (Cox) Cease, and a daughter; Ruth Carson.

A private family graveside service in Ogdensburg Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Richard's name may be directed to the Bradford County Humane Society, PO Box 179, Ulster, PA 18850.
