Ricky L. Shannon, 61, formerly of Canton, passed away on a beautiful April 5th, 2021 in Troy, PA. Ricky Lynn was born January 6, 1960 in Blossburg, a son of the late Charles Ray and Charlotte Maxine (Kilmer) Shannon. He had previously worked at Penn-Troy and in the past enjoyed boating and fishing with his friends.

Ricky lovingly cared for several boxer dogs throughout his life that were his pride, joy, and companionship.He would always help his friends and was generous despite humble means.

Rick became a true mountain man and gentle soul living on Armenia, these past 15 years, overseeing and maintaining a quaint cabin for good friend - Bill Vickery. He endured long harsh Winters, living simply and in solitude with his faithful dog, becoming very much in tune with nature.

After coming to town for supplies, he was always glad to get back to his perch on the mountain. Rick would often comment, "Beautiful Day!"

After finally quitting cigarettes a couple years ago, he would be quick to advise anyone he came across - they better cut those things out.
