IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Bentley
September 6, 1944 – May 2, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert LaRue Bentley on May 2, 2025, at the age of 80. Robert (Bob) was born on September 6, 1944, to the late Harold Sr. and Helen (Harris) Bentley. Bob met the love of his life and beloved wife, Doris Ann Bellows, in high school. They spent 60 wonderful years married. Bob worked at Swayze's for many years before driving truck for Pelton's Trucking. After retirement, you could find him at the Corey Creek Golf Course with the "Senior Guys".
Bob was a simple man who loved his family. He was known for the constant humming noise he made when doing anything. Bob enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle and Euchre, Sudoku, listening to music, watching Fox News and Trump. He was a true outdoorsman and loved spending time at the cabin on Barclay Mountain, muzzleloader hunting and playing golf. Sitting on the porch with a cigarette while visiting with family and friends were times he truly looked forward to. His greatest loves were his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Doris Ann, his children Kip (Shy) of South Dakota, Sonia of Canton, Brett (Stephanie) of Troy, and Robin of Blossburg. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and special family friends.
Bob was predeceased by his brother Harold Jr. "Bud" Bentley.
Although Bob's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Go rest high on that Mountain. Your work here on Earth is done. We love you always and forever.
Per Bob's request, there will be no viewing or funeral services. Instead, his ashes will be spread in places he loved the most. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
