Obituary
Robert E. Beach, 79, of Troy, PA and formerly of Granville Summit passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, September 5, 2016 at the Bradford County Manor.
Robert Earl, "Bob" Beach was born in Elmira, NY on May 6, 1937.He was the son of the late Fay Oldroyd and Lorena (Cook Blauvelt) Beach and step-son of the late Raymond James "R.J." Beach.He married the former Julia E. Darrow on March 7, 1958 at Mountain Lake's Methodist Church.They have shared 58 years together and raised four children.
Robert and Julia owned and operated Beach's Farms in Granville Summit for many years until retirement. Together they improved both the dairy and land through their dedicated and insightful work ethic. In addition to the daily operations of the farm, Bob also hauled milk for Troy Dairy.Family meant everything to Bob.He was an awesome, fun-loving dad and grandpa who enjoyed making time to play children's games.Bob always loved being outdoors and liked to hunt and fish.He was very interested in farm tractors, participated in several area tractor pulls and was a member of the Twin Tiers Antique Tractor Club.Bob also enjoyed watching sports, especially Dallas Cowboys football.
In addition to his wife Julia, surviving are their children; Linda (Ronald Jr.) Woodward of Princeton NC, Wayne Beach (Janis Stevenson) of Waverly, NY, Tom Sr. (Minnie) Beach of Granville Summit, and John (Lori) Beach of Canton, eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, a brother and step-brother; James (Rose) Oldroyd of Ft. Myers, FL and Louis (Velma) Beach of Troy, three sisters-in-law; Vivian Kie and Edith Darrow both of Troy and Ellen Gambert of Hampton, VA, several nieces, nephews cousins, close friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Judy Lynne (Grimes) Beach and a step-brother, Donald Beach.
The family invites friends to call 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton.Mr. Dale Harper will officiate the funeral service following at 11 a.m.Interment will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, Bob would have appreciated donations to JAF Ministries, P.O. Box 3333 Agoura Hills, CA 91376-3333.
