Robert L. "Bob" Shanley, 89, of Roaring Branch, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Robert Leo was born on October 23, 1935, in Blossburg, a son to the late Matthew and Margaret (Plutchack) Shanley. He attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1953. Following high school Bob was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. On February 16, 1963, Robert married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Forer in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton. Together they shared 60 years of marriage and raised three sons, prior to Betty's passing in 2022.

Bob enjoyed hunting, especially turkey, and was a member of the Lick Run Hunting Club. A farmer at heart, he saw to the daily operations of their family farm, Shanrock Dairy, in Union Township, for many years until his health no longer permitted him to continue. His life truly encompassed his farm and the love he shared with his family.

Surviving Robert are his sons; Leo Shanley and Larry (Kami) Shanley, grandchildren; Rachel (Clifford) Sweithelm and Matthew (Siarra) Shanley, great grandchildren; Lily, Layla and Elley and one on the way, baby Gerhardt Sweithelm.

Besides his parents and wife, Betty, Bob was predeceased by a son; Lyle Shanley in 2023 and brothers; Lawrence Shanley, Alvin "Lefty" Shanley and Frances Shanley.

A viewing will be held from 11 A.M. to Noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the East Point United Methodist Church, 10925 Route 414, Roaring Branch, PA 17765. Pastor Tom Harmic will officiate the funeral service at Noon with interment following in the Union Cemetery in Liberty Township.
