IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosario "Ross"
Gerbino
July 10, 1949 – February 3, 2026
Rosario "Ross" Gerbino, 76, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Rosario was born on July 10, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Joseph and Carol "Claire" Gerbino. He attended Lindenhurst High School in Lindenhurst, New York, graduating with the Class of 1967.
On August 30, 1969, Ross, as known by most, married the love of his life, the former Janet Kennard. Together they shared 50 years of devoted marriage until Janet's passing in 2019.
Ross proudly served as a New York City fireman for 22 years, retiring in 1991. He was a dedicated and professional firefighter who truly loved his work and the brotherhood that came with it.
In 1990, Ross and Janet moved to Bradford County to begin a new chapter in the country, a place they quickly grew to cherish. A true outdoorsman, Ross enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Long Island Sound as well as playing golf. He loved being on the water and took great joy in owning and spending time on his boat.
Ross will be remembered as a generous man, sometimes stubborn, but always in the best way. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family loved him with all their hearts.
Ross leaves behind his son; Ross (Tina) Gerbino of Corning, grandchildren; Brittani Raub, Gabriella Gerbino, Rosario Gerbino, Anthony Gerbino, Zachary Pettigew (Meghan Kernicky) great granddaughter; Evelyn, good friends; Chuck, Bud and Mary as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents and wife Janet, Ross was predeceased by a daughter; Jodi Gerbino and a brother-in-law Richard Kennard.
A time of visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026. At Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. There will be no funeral services.
