Sandra “Sandy” L. McCarty, passed away suddenly at her home in Forksville, PA on Friday morning, August 6, 2026. She was born December 1, 1942, in Canton, PA a daughter of the late Richard and Alfreda (Carpenter) Higley.

Sandy graduated from the former Estella High School and shortly following married Dale Bennett on August 19,1960. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth Bennett. Dale passed away in 1978 and together they raised three sons, Roy (deceased), Terry, and Greg.

In 1981, Sandy married Ronald McCarty Sr. and together shared 45 years of marriage.

In addition to her beloved husband and sons, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Eula Hudock McCall, siblings, Marvin, Rich, and Cheryl, stepchildren, Ron Jr. (deceased), Melanie, and Vonnie, grandchildren, Emmalyn, Parker, Matthew, Laurel, and Ally, great grandchildren, Ayden, and Brooklyn Alfreda, step- grandchildren, Jamie, Logan, Laura, Trevor, and Jill, step-great grandchildren, Jessamine, Titus, Hollis, and Rafe, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, cooking and baking, and playing cards with her friends.

The family invites friends to attend a graveside service to honor Sandy’s life at 11a.m. on August 15, 2026 at the Forksville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Sandy’s loving memory may be directed to the Forksville United Methodist Church.

The Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
