Sheila A.
Minnick
February 11, 1951 – January 26, 2026
Sheila (Morgan) Minnick, 74, of Dushore, formerly of Shunk, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at UPMC in Williamsport. She was born on February 11, 1951, in Canton, the daughter of the late Melvin and Joyce (Leighton) Morgan, and one of eleven children. Sheila attended Sullivan Area Schools and graduated with the Class of 1969. She later continued her education at the Northern Tier Career Center, where she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.
Sheila was known for her strong work ethic and her desire to stay active. Throughout her career, she served as a nurse at Darway in her younger years, and later in her nursing career worked as a substitute nurse in the Troy Area School District, the Sullivan County School District and most recently provided compassionate in‑home care through Golden Care Home Health Agency. Nursing was truly her calling, and she found deep fulfillment in caring for others.
Outside of her work, Sheila loved tending to her flower gardens and growing her tomato plants. She took great joy in watching the hummingbirds that visited her yard. Above all, she cherished her family, and time spent with them was always her greatest priority.
Sheila is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Nolan) Chase of Forksville, Kirsten Leann (Navarra) Minnick of Milton, and Karissa (Crystal) Minnick of Millville; her grandchildren, Nora Ann Chase and Lyla Joy Chase; and her special "grandspider," Maple. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen O'Conners of Shunk, David (Penny) Morgan of Canton, Vern (Teresa) Morgan of Shunk, Cindy (Grant) Gustin of Gillett, Jolene Morgan of Canton, and Dewey (Kathy) Morgan of Sonestown; her chosen son, Adam Bellows of Leroy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Morgan, Dawn Perry, and infant brother Lee Morgan; her special grandson, Ky'mani "Ky-man" Moore; her brothers‑in‑law, Carl O'Conners and Jim Perry; and her grandparents, William and Belle Morgan, and Leon and Olivia Leighton.
