Stephen A. Castle, 63, of Canton, PA passed away at home while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
Stephen Albert, "Steve", was born in Sayre, PA April 18, 1954.He was one of eight children in the family of the late Arnold and Vera (Cole) Castle.Steve graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1972.On February 2, 1974, he married the former Eleanor "Ellie" Kunzman in Grover.They were blessed with 43 wonderful years together and raised five children.Steve enjoyed his career as a truck driver and drove tractor trailer for several area companies.He was very proud of his family and especially loved sharing family times and seeing his grandchildren.Steve was well-known for his pool shooting talents.He loved music, being outdoors and hunting, watching races and derby cars, yard sales, auctions and antiques, reading newspapers and crossword puzzles.In younger years, Steve enjoyed playing softball with his kids and riding his Harley.He was a member of Canton's American Legion 303.
Surviving is his wife Ellie, children; Stephen Jr. (Lynn) of Canton, Bobbie Castle Matson (John) of North Carolina, Micky (Nikki) Castle of Washington State, Fuzzy (Charlene) Castle and Tara Castle Eberlin (Nick) all of Canton, 11 grandchildren, five siblings; Cathy Coleman of North Carolina, Linda Caswell of Florida, Dale Castle of Indiana, Denny Castle of Florida and Allen Castle of New York, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.He was predeceased by a brother and sister; David and Candy.
Family invites friends to call 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton.Rev Duane Taylor will officiate the funeral service at 4 p.m.Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4.
