Stephen M. Innes, 76, a life-long resident of Canton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his residence with his loving son and dogs by his side.

Stephen was born June 12, 1947, in Canton, one of five sons of the late Judson and Eulalia (Hurley) Innes. Steve attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1965. On February 14, 1981, Steve married the former Deborah "Debi" Wilston in St. Michaels Catholic Church, Canton. Together they shared 36 years of loving marriage until Debi's passing in 2017.

In earlier years, Steve worked for the former Swayze Folding Box Company in Canton. He later accepted a position as a heavy equipment operator for PennDOT for over 32 years until his retirement.

Steve enjoyed the New York Times crossword puzzles, visiting with family and friends, especially when playing a good card game. He also enjoyed watching his favorite TV show NCIS and time spent with his canine friends.

Steve leaves behind his son; Casey Innes of Canton, brothers, Jon (Judy) Innes of Bethlehem, PA and Benjamin (Kathy) Innes of Lock Haven, PA, and Barabra Innes of Owego, N.Y., many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, Beverly Griffin of Canton, Andrea Herlocker and Jonny Weanger both of Linden, PA,

Besides his parents and wife Debi, Steve was predeceased by his brothers; D. Jeremy "Jerry" Innes and Thomas Innes and a sister-in-law; Karen (Hoag) Innes.

In maintaining to Steve's wishes, there will be no public services and burial will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may consider a memorial to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box Ulster, PA 18850.
