Obituary

William M. Neal Sr., 83, of Roaring Branch, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, March 27, 2025. William Miles was born February 8, 1942, in Canton, a son to the late Miles and Alberta (Austin) Neal. He attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1959, where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. On December 27, 1964, William married the former Dorothy Gust in the Canton Church of Christ. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and raised five children. In earlier years, the Neal family attended the Ogdensburg Church of Christ and he was also a proud member of the National Holstein Association.

After high school Bill jumped right into farming, acquiring and establishing the Rocky Slope Farm in 1972. The Dairy Farm was located in the beautiful area of Union Township, Tioga County. He was always a hard worker, and to the day he passed he was working on the farm. Farming was his passion and truly encompassed Bill's life. He followed local sports diligently and liked to watch NASCAR, rooting for Dale Earnhart Sr. and Richard Petty. Bill enjoyed eating ice cream, especially black raspberry. Most of all Bill loved his family and the times he spent with them.

He leaves behinds his sons; William (Kim) Neal Jr. of Tioga, Ronald (Lisa) Neal of Ogdensburg, Michael (Paula) Neal of Liberty and Chad (Jennifer) Neal, daughter; Sally Neal all of Roaring Branch, grandchildren; Travis, Alane (Dylan), Chad Jr. (Autumn), Madisyn (Gavin), and Danielle, great grandchildren; Lincoln and Reagan, siblings; Jean (Carl) Young of Sylvania and Bud Neal of Roaring Branch special sister-in-law; Mary Campbell of Canton, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, and wife Dorothy, Bill was predeceased by his sister and brother in law; Janet and John Kerrick.

Services and burial will be announced at a later date. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Neals name may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
