IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harry A.
Morse
August 23, 1918 – May 27, 2013
Harry A. Morse, 94, Life-long resident of LeRoy, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Bradford County Manor.
Born on August 23, 1918 on Bunyan Hill in LeRoy Township, Harry Arthur Morse was one of seven children in the family of Burr and Minnie (Shedden) Morse. A 1936 graduate of Canton High School, he was proud that he was the only child in his family to do so. Shortly after graduating, Harry married the former Phyllis L. Packard. They were blessed with 58 years together and raised two sons before her passing in October of 1994.
Harry's life-long career was dairy farming and he remained active and involved well into his recent years. His satisfaction came with the hard work, planning and improvements made to his beloved land and livestock named Morse Farms.
Surviving are his children, Ronald (Shirley) Morse and Randy (Kay) Morse all of Canton; five grandchildren, Jeff (Kristy) Morse, Mike (Holly) Morse, Heather (Jeremy) Route, Megan Morse and Randi Morse, 10 great grandchildren; his sister, Marjorie Wright of Canton, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Also a grateful thank you to a special caregiver, Shannon Chilson, who made it possible for Harry to stay in his son Randy's home for the last four months of his life.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Harry was predeceased by five siblings; Ruth Wilcox, Martha Pepper, Zelma Jennings, Carlyle Morse and Erwin "Buck" Morse.
Calling hours are Friday, May 31, from 6 – 7 p.m. at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 with Rev. Ronnie Bly and Jasper Smith officiating. Interment will be private in East Canton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests your consideration of a memorial in Mr. Morse's name to The Green Free Library, 38 N. Center St. Canton, PA 17724 or the Rialto Theatre c/o BCRAC 601 Main St. Towanda, PA 18848.
