Marilyn Ruth Pepper's Obituary

Marilyn Pepper, 78, of Burlington, PA passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Marilyn Ruth Wrisley Pepper was born on February 28, 1935 in Burlington Township, one of 10 children in the family of the late Mahlon and Ruth (Harkness) Wrisley.

She was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Troy High School. On September 16, 1955, Marilyn married Liston Pepper. They shared over 57 years of marriage and were

blessed with two children. While Liston served in the U.S. Navy, they lived all over the United States before settling in Burlington Township. Liston and Marilyn owned and operated Pepper's Pantry in Burlington for many years. Later they established The Pepper Shaker, a well-known restaurant and gift store near Monroeton before retiring in 2002. Caring for her family and home were most important in Marilyn's life. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida for winters with her older sister, shopping trips and long lunches with her sisters, herdaughter and hergranddaughters. Marilyn attended many churches during her travels, but the Burlington Methodist Church was always her home church.

In addition to her husband, Liston, surviving are her children, Kathy (Gary) Crane of East Smithfield Twp. and David (Carol Thompson) Pepper of State College; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; siblings, Lois Wrisley of State College, Elnora Stapley of Pittsford, NY, Mahlon (Jean) Wrisley of West Burlington and Stuart (Catherine) Wrisley of Burlington Twp., several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by five siblings, Eloise Likewise, Russell Wrisley, Duane Wrisley, Ophelia Ayres and Gladys Jerome.
