Myron "Mike" Bristol's Obituary

Myron "Mike" Bristol, 71, lifelong resident of West Burlington, PA passed away while surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Bradford County Manor following a courageous battle with cancer.





Myron Larue Bristol, "Mike" to family and friends, was born on the family farm in W. Burlington Twp. on November 18, 1942, the son of the late Richard "Dick" and Gladys (Wagner) Bristol. He was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School.



Mike loved his life's career as a dairy farmer and The Roundtop Farm was his pride and joy. Home, family, good friends and neighbors meant everything and his grandchildren were very special to Mike. He possessed a great sense of humor, always the jokester. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, golfing and playing softball. Mike and Shirley traveled coast to coast and took several trips to Florida. Most recently, rides in Mike's 2014 Mustang brought many good times.



Surviving are his wife, Shirley Preston Bristol; children, Angie (William) Dixon of Troy and David (Kim) Bristol of W. Burlington; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa and Kari Ammerman, Aaron, Mikayla and Kelsey Bristol, Phillip Brooke and Autumn Dixon; 2 sisters, Maxine (Robert) Simpson of Towanda and Wanda (Bill) Murray of W. Burlington; 4 step children; Debbie (Todd) Allyn of Sugar Run, Karen Beers (Harry Ely) of Camptown, Theodore Wilson of Wyalusing and Craig (Brenda) Jayne of Northport FL; 7 step grandchildren, Tucker and Jeremy Allyn, Christopher (Lacey) Clair, Randy Beers, Chad Beers (Sierra), Melissa and Hayley Jayne;7 step great grandchildren, Saylor, Conor, Ethan, Abigail, Adriyanna,Tim and Mikayla; 5 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roy (Nancy) Preston, Donna (Ronald) Cole, Pat (Burt) Neuber, Mary (Glenn) Beckley and John Preston all of Wyalusing; several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors.



In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded by his first wife, Sue Ann Lloyd Bristol in 1978; his mother-in-law, Doris Neiley Preston in 1999; and father-in-law, Herbert Preston in 2013.



Calling hours are 10 - noon Wednesday, Jan.15,atPepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton with the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at Camptown Cemetery.
