Winifred "Winnie"
Morse
June 29, 1927 – February 11, 2012
Winnie Morse, 84, lifelong Canton native, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, February 11, 2012, from the Bradford County Manor.
Winifred Jane Morse was born at the family home on June 29, 1927. One of three children in the family of the late Willard J. and Lena B. (Williams) Morse, Winnie was a 1945 graduate of Canton High School.
A special person to all who knew her, Winnie "told it as she saw it". Her wit and humor were blended with her concern for others. Winnie was employed by Swayze's Folding Box Co. in Canton for many years and retired in 1989. She was an active member of the Canton Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Winnie's life was blessed with many friends. She enjoyed playing cards in many local card clubs, especially the game 500.
Surviving are her twin brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Marjorie Morse of Canton; three nieces, Judy (John) Banks of Henderson, NV, Linda (the late Gary) Avery of Goose Creek, SC and Vickie Byko of Clemson, SC, and a nephew, Jim Morse of Summerville, SC, many cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Depew, in 1986.
In keeping with Winnie's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at Pepper Funeral Home, Springbrook Dr., Canton at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, with Rev. Bonnie L. Browning officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may consider a donation in her name to Western Alliance E.M.S. at P.O. Box 13 Troy, PA 16947 or the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ),
P.O. Box 57, Canton, PA 17724.
